One-hour Weekday Show Offers Intelligent Talk to Lead into Primetime Nightly Block
Sportsman Channel’s enormously-popular, news-talk, outdoor show – NRANEWS Cam & Company – is moving its on-air time to 6 p.m. ET beginning January 6 due to robust demand. The one-hour show will lead into the network’s nightly primetime lineup of reality, lifestyle and adventure series. The new primetime lineup expands the network’s drive to present more of the lifestyle of people who love – and live – to hunt, shoot and fish, including stories about travel, adventure, survival, cooking & eating, work, family and more.
Hosted by Cam Edwards, and airing from the NRANEWS Studios in Washington, D.C., NRANEWS Cam & Company is the first and only news-talk series on television that can authoritatively address the issues that are vital to America’s more than 80 million sportsmen and sportswomen. This April, the show will be celebrating 10 years of broadcasting via radio on programs such as Sirius XM Patriot Channel and via simulcast on NRANEWS.Com.
“From the debut of Cam & Company at the 2004 NRA Annual Meeting in Pittsburgh, one of the greatest things about the experience has been the connection with our audience,” said Cam Edwards, host. “There are so many NRA members and gun owners around the country over the past decade who’ve become part of ‘the Company’, and when I think back on all that we’ve accomplished, I know that they’re the most integral part of our success.”
“There is no other daily TV show like Cam and Company out there, and we are excited about this move and what the future holds,” said Marc Fein, executive vice president, programming & production of Sportsman Channel. “This entertaining and informative show, highlighted by Cam’s intelligent insight and perspective to vital issues, discussion with big name guests, and special weekly and daily segments will be a great lead-in to our prime time slate.”
Host Cam Edwards, an engaging radio personality, insightful interviewer, sportsman and shooting enthusiast, brings a unique perspective and intelligence that does not exist anywhere else on news-talk TV. Cam explores the stories, people and places behind the headlines and issues that affect the lifestyle of people who love to hunt, shoot, and fish. NRANEWS Cam & Company has secured numerous important newsmakers in 2013 to discuss topics du jour – such as airing live in Colorado during the epic gun debate, hosting in studio or via satellite guests like Lt. Col. Oliver North; country music artist Aaron Lewis; Olympic Gold Medalist, Kim Rhode; former New England Patriots Matt Light; famed rocker and outdoorsman Ted Nugent and book author and writer for The Washington Times, Emily Miller, among many well-known Senators, Representatives and Congressman on both side of the aisles.
“We had a great 2013 bringing the news, stories, people and places we cover daily to Sportsman Channel’s passionate national audience, which spans many interests from shooting sports to hunting to the Second Amendment and much more,” said Edwards. “The tremendous success we’ve experienced with first our radio show and now the TV segment underscores the desire for this type of programming to meet the underserved needs for accurate, balanced and honest information about the topics, news and events that matter to America’s millions of active sportsmen and sportswomen.”
