The tail-end of muzzleloader season is nearing, and Huntley Ritter, host of this week’s Outfitters Built by Ford F-Series, is hoping to wrangle an Oklahoma whitetail before the season ends. Weather conditions threaten to alert the deer of present danger, but Ritter is determined to persevere on this week’s episode of the Outfitters Built by Ford F-Series, airing exclusively on Sportsman Channel on Thursday, December 19 at 8:30 p.m. ET/PT.
Before Huntley Ritter heads out to experience what Oklahoma whitetail hunting has to offer, he learns the ins and outs of using a muzzleloader. It is Ritter’s first time hunting during muzzleloader season, but he is ready to take on less traveled Oklahoma territory for the perfect whitetail. “I needed to get some experience with a muzzleloader to ensure a good shot at a big whitetail,” said Ritter. “I was eventually able to spot a few deer, but that’s never a guarantee for success.”
As the hunt continues, high winds begin to rip through Oklahoma. A drastic change in wind speed causes Ritter to question whether or not the deer in sight will scatter once they catch wind of him. “There’s no telling when a big buck will come around,” continued Ritter. “But I knew we’d lose a monster buck, if the wind kept up.”
