MidwayUSA Named Presenting Sponsor of National Pheasant Fest and Quail Classic

Milwaukee, Wisconsin will host nation’s largest upland event February 14, 15 and 16, 2014

Pheasants Forever (PF) and Quail Forever (QF) proudly announce MidwayUSA will serve as the presenting sponsor for National Pheasant Fest and Quail Classic 2014. This event will be held February 14-16, 2014, at the Wisconsin Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

National Pheasant Fest and Quail Classic 2014, presented by MidwayUSA, will be Pheasants Forever’s tenth such event, combining a national consumer show, habitat seminar series and family event complete with puppies, tractors, shotguns and art. This annual gathering has grown into the nation’s largest event for upland hunters, farmers, sport dog owners and wildlife habitat conservationists. In addition, this year’s event will celebrate Pheasants Forever’s 31st anniversary as the leader in upland conservation.

“MidwayUSA has been an ardent supporter of Pheasants Forever’s mission, and we are very proud to have them become National Pheasant Fest and Quail Classic 2014’s presenting sponsor,” said Joe Duggan, Pheasants Forever’s vice president of corporate relations. “With Wisconsin’s strong outdoor community and traditions, we fully expect this year’s National Pheasant Fest and Quail Classic to be the largest show to date and are very optimistic about drawing over 30,000 attendees to our three-day event.”

“Brenda and I, along with the rest of the folks at MidwayUSA, strongly believe in the mission of conservation. Conservation organizations provide leadership in the area of stewardship of our game and land resources, as well as fight to protect our hunting rights. We’ve always believed in giving back to our communities and our industry,” noted Larry Potterfield, Founder and CEO of MidwayUSA.

“We are very proud to be the presenting sponsor of National Pheasant Fest and Quail Classic 2014,” continued Potterfield.

Pheasants Forever launched Quail Forever in August of 2005 to address the continuing loss of habitat suitable for quail and the subsequent quail population decline. Bobwhite population losses over the last 25 years range from 60 to 90 percent across the country. The reason for the quail population plunge is simple - massive losses of habitat suitable for quail. There are five major factors leading to the losses of quail habitat; intensified farming and forestry practices, succession of grassland ecosystems to forests, overwhelming presence of exotic grasses like fescue that choke out wildlife, and urban sprawl.
