Frigibar Donation Supports Sportfish Tournament

Frigibar Industries, a highly respected marine refrigeration manufacturer, donated a hand-crafted unit to the Quest for the Crest sailfish tournament and its selected charity, Operation Homefront. The four-leg, Florida-based Quest for the Crest series began December 11 and ends April 12. Teams compete for over $2 million in cash and prizes.

As a sponsor of the tournament’s first event, Operation Sailfish, Frigibar donated a top-opening SW5T cockpit freezer/refrigerator for silent auction. The hand-crafted 50″ fiberglass unit features high efficiency copper/aluminum heat exchanger coils to maintain precise temperatures. Its dual control enables it to serve as either a freezer or refrigerator, depending on the day’s needs.

Teams on 44 participating boats caught and released 369 fish during the two-day tournament. “We’re honored to support Operation Sailfish; over $5,000 of the proceeds were devoted to Operation Homefront,” said Frigibar president Shuly Oletzky. On “Take a Hero Fishing Day” before the event, several team boats hosted service men and women on the water.

Operation Homefront helps support military and wounded warrior families, and has since 2011 distributed over $1.6 million in goods and services. “The charities we support rely heavily on event fundraising,” said Jamie Bunn, president of Bluewater Movements, the tournament’s promoter. “Generous companies like Frigibar understand that. Without them, we simply couldn’t make these important contributions.”
