Long-Range Magic of ArmaLite’s AR-31 Highlights March Issue of GUNS Magazine

Looking to redefine the term “precision rifle,” ArmaLite’s hard-hitting AR-31 in .308 Winchester has all the tools for long-range shooting in the GUNS March issue cover story, as Contributing Editor Jacob Gottfredson discovers.

“The recoil was astonishingly mild, but I expected that. And it was accurate, which I also expected,” writes Gottfredson. “The rifle was quite simply built with accuracy in mind, and I believe ArmaLite succeeded in their goal.”

The March issue also features John Barsness’s review of Benelli’s “Classy Workhorse,” the ETHOS 12-gauge shotgun and its performance while wingshooting in Africa.

“The Benelli ETHOS isn’t the sort of shotgun you want to drop in the Mississippi mud, though it would no doubt survive the trauma. It’s an all-around tool for shooting any sort of winged game in the world — over and over and over again”

Also featured in this issue is Mike “Duke” Venturino’s study of five WWII submachine guns, Dave Anderson’s investigation of the Nighthawk Custom Falcon Commander .45 ACP and Pat Covert’s exploration of the Spartan Blades’ Phrike Fixed-Blade knife.
