Captain Chase Camacho Named Tournament Director for Pro Football Hall of Fame Celebrity Billfish Invitational

Members of the Hall of Fame Players Classic Foundation To Host Tournament April 24-27

Captain Chase Camacho, who learned to fish at the legendary Big Tuna Grounds off Montauk, Long Island and honed his skills off the Florida coast, has been named Tournament Director for a one-of-a-kind billfish tournament combining hard driving blue water action with a chance to fish with the best of the best from the NFL.

Camacho, though his Chase N Dreams Yacht Charters, has been offering blue water charters from Bimini since last April. Camacho will be recruiting competitive anglers for the two-day billfish tournament which will give them a shot at over $250,000 in prizes, a tremendous gift bag per angler, and a chance to fish with a Pro Football Hall of Fame Player or NFL Legend.

“This is about as good as it gets,” said Camacho, who was voted one of the top five charter boat captains in South Florida. “Some great billfish action, the historic Bimini Big Game Club and camaraderie with guys who are gridiron legends.”

The tournament will be based at the Bimini Big Game Resort and Marina in Alice Town—an internationally known destination for hosting top-of-class fishing tournaments for more than 50 years. Bimini, home base to many sportfishing legends, including Ernest Hemingway and western author Zane Grey, was recently ranked #3 in the top ten fisheries of the world by Sport Fishing Magazine.

The tournament, according to Camacho, is open for up to four registered anglers per boat—just 22 boats total.

“We’re already seeing a lot of interest,” noted Camacho.

To register online go to www.HOFBimini.com and a brief tournament video overview can be viewed on the homepage. Several sponsorship levels are available including the Title sponsorship.

The catch and release only tournament, which will adhere to IGFA Tournament rules, will target all billfish species, including Blue Marlin, White Marlin, Sailfish, Spearfish and Swordfish. Awards will be presented in the overall angler and team categories and additional awards will be given to the high point boat each day.
