PROTECH Tactical announces today the preview of the redesigned and improved Portal Ladder which provides a portable, tactical and modular tool for tactical teams worldwide at the Shooting, Hunting, Outdoor Trade Show and Conference (SHOT Show) January 14-17, 2014 in Las Vegas, Nevada, booth #12762. The patented foldable design makes the Portal Ladder the most versatile climbing tool on the market.
“There is no other ladder in the world as resourceful and compact as the Portal Ladder,” said Dan McNeil, Category Director for Tactical Armor. “When time is of the essence, the Portal Ladder can be assembled and deployed in a matter of seconds giving tactical teams the edge needed to complete their mission.”
Designed for quick retrieval and rapid deployment, the Portal Ladder can be deployed from a hand carry or backpack-carry position in less than 30 seconds, as the components easily lock into place providing a secure platform. When folded, the Portal Ladder is approximately 1 foot wide by 2 feet tall for easy storage in a small compartment or vehicle trunk. Despite its size, the ladder was manufactured using a hybrid fiber-reinforced Grivory molded plastic and exceeds the ANSI 14.5 Class 1A strength and weight standards for a working load of 300 pounds.
This light and easy-to-carry ladder allows for easy movement through confined spaces. Further, the optional backpack harness adds more versatility, leaving arms and hands free for other tasks. The Portal Ladder is ideal for use any time of day and weather condition. Its sleek, non-reflective black design and muted labeling offers low visibility making the Portal Ladder ideal for nighttime usage. Additionally, the ladder is flame-retardant, non-conductive, and UV-resistant for protection against fading; it’s also corrosion and chemical resistant and is not affected by extreme temperatures.
Also to be offered is an optional swivel hooks accessory. With this feature, the Portal Ladder can be suspended vertically from higher openings or a roof edge for a variety of applications. The ladder also features a 12 inch rung width and is available in 6 foot, 8 foot, 10 foot, 12 foot and 14 foot options and will be available May 2014.
