This Week on Gun Guy Radio – the Best of SHOT Show 2014

What was the most talked about new product introduction at the NSSF SHOT Show? Was it the new Glock 41 or 42? Maybe the Remington R51? For those who lean toward rifles, it may have been Houston Armory’s integrally suppressed AR-15 or the Desert Tech MDR that was most exciting. Jake Challand, Hank Hockey, Mike Emmert and Greg Bakken broadcast live from Las Vegas and discuss these and the other new firearms that have already generated a significant following in just the few short days since their introduction at the 2014 SHOT Show. “These are the top products that either we think are awesome or we see that there is a lot of buzz going on among the fans.” Complete SHOT Show coverage including videos and write-ups can be seen at www.firearmsinsider.tv/shotshow.
Brownell’s Paul Levy brings us the Next Level Training SIRT Performer Training Pistol, which mimics the look and feel of the Glock 17, but is similar enough to be a valuable training tool for users of any modern service pistol. The SIRT Performer allows for dry fire and reload practice. “This has two lasers in it actually. One is when you depress the trigger so when you’re applying pressure only laser illuminates. And as soon as that trigger breaks a second laser will illuminate.” This training pistol also has the advantage of allowing multiple trigger pulls without having to rack the slide after each. The SIRT Performer is a great training tool whether you are an instructor or just practicing on your own.
