Steve Mariucci Experiences the Agony and Ecstacy of Football and Fishing on Outdoor Channel

Steve Mariucci mentored Mike Pawlawski on the football field, but the former Cal and NFL coach finds the going a bit choppy when Pawlawski looks to mentor him in open water on “Gridiron Outdoors with Mike Pawlawski,” this week on Outdoor Channel, America’s Leader In Outdoor TV.
The show airs Friday, Feb. 7, at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 8 at 7:30 a.m. and 8 p.m., and Monday, Feb. 10 at 10:30 a.m., all times EST.
Mariucci, currently an analyst on NFL Network after head coaching jobs with the San Francisco 49ers and Detroit Lions, talks about the highs and the lows on the gridiron, about how the ecstasy of a victory doesn’t come close to out-weighing the agony of a defeat. But, on this episode in the waters off of San Diego, Mariucci finds that just the opposite is true in the outdoors, being a part of a team that is successful in its quest for the “bay slam”, one day after he struggles to get his sea legs underneath him.
It’s a day on the bay coupling fishing with football reminiscing – Mariucci’s recruiting and coaching of Pawlawski (and his haircut) at Cal; the day he sent Brett Favre onto the field for the first time as the QBs coach at Green Bay; and replacing coaching legends Bill Walsh and George Seifert in San Francisco.
