Audiences have enthusiastically watched 24 of the world’s best professional anglers compete all season long in the unique bass fishing tournament that is Major League Fishing. Ehrler, Grigsby, Hackney, Horton, Martens and VanDam have staked their position in the semi-finals for a shot in the championship round of the General Tire Summit Cup, the league’s fourth televised event.
Now the pressure is on amongst the six fierce competitors to finish strong. They’re angling toward the prestigious Major League Fishing 2014 Summit Cup winner title.
Major League Fishing – a partnership involving the world’s top anglers and Outdoor Channel – offers intense bass fishing events designed to bring high-level challenges to 24 competitors. The six-day General Tire Summit Cup, filmed in and around the Northern Michigan City of Alpena, was transformed into an action-packed TV series.
Each riveting episode of Major League Fishing captures the anglers’ efforts as they utilize a demanding format that allows them to weigh all the “scorable bass” they catch. The anglers must excel purely on their instincts and skill with no prior knowledge of the water. The innovative format, with real-time leader board scoring and no limits, creates a pressure-filled game that delivers unparalleled competition in the sport of bass fishing.
The complete list of anglers involved in the Summit Cup competition are: Tommy Biffle, Mark Davis, Boyd Duckett, Brent Ehrler, Edwin Evers, Shaw Grigsby, Greg Hackney, Tim Horton, Randy Howell, Michael Iaconelli, Alton Jones, Kelly Jordon, Gary Klein, Jeff Kriet, Bobby Lane, Aaron Martens, Mike McClelland, Ish Monroe, Takahiro Omori, Jason Quinn, Skeet Reese, Dean Rojas, Kevin VanDam and Byron Velvick.
The final round promises to bring a new lake, new pressure and ultimately a new Major League Fishing champion!
The special two-hour finale of “Jack Link’s Major League Fishing” will air on Saturday, February 8, 2014 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. ET.
