On the heels of the first ever Military Appreciation Race this coming weekend, Feld Motor Sports® announced today that every Monster Energy AMA Supercross, an FIM World Championship, race will be broadcast live to the 175 military bases around the world, including U.S. installations, U.S. embassies, and other U.S. consulates, through the American Forces Network (AFN).
The sixth race of the 2014 season will honor the over one million service men and women in the armed forces with the first ever Military Appreciation Race, in support of Operation Homefront, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides assistance to service members and their families with a focus on wounded veterans who served on or after 9/11.
“It’s an honor to have the dedicated members of the United States Military supporting Monster Energy Supercross,” said Todd Jendro, vice president of two wheel operations, Feld Motor Sports. “This weekend’s military-themed race in San Diego, and every race the remainder of the season, will be brought live to military bases around the world, and on behalf of Feld Motor Sports, we want to say thank you to every active and non-active military member.”
Through the exciting programming on FOX Sports 1, military members and their families can enjoy this one-of-a-line experience through AFN.
“We are delighted to announce our relationship with Feld Motor Sports and bring exciting action-packed Monster Energy Supercross coverage to the U.S. military service members and their families deployed around the world,” said Corey Slutsky, chief of AFN sports programming. “AFN provides a touch of home to those deployed, and having supercross on our schedule allows us to continue to provide the best sports to our deserving audience.”
For the first-time ever, the entire Monster Energy Supercross season will air live on FOX Sports. FOX Sports 1 will air 13 races live and FOX Sports 2 will air four races live, in addition to every race re-airing on FOX Sports 2. The live Monster Energy Supercross programming on FOX Sports 1 and FOX Sports 2 also includes live coverage on the authenticated FOX Sports Go app.
