Fishing Tackle Retailer (FTR) has announced the launch of a completely new website at

“Fishing Tackle Retailer (yes that one) has a surprisingly cool site,” tweeted Todd Frankel of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

The website, which provides business news from the sportfishing industry has undergone a transformation to a new, responsive layout. That layout is designed to work on mobile devices as well as desktops.

FTR’s digital editor, Joe Sills had this to say:

“A lot of people in this industry are familiar with Fishing Tackle Retailer. We’ve been known as one of the most high-quality fishing publications around for decades. Our goal with the website redesign was simply to present new products and industry news in a way that hasn’t been done before in this industry, and I think with the new website we have really done that.”

According to Sills, the site looks simple on the outside, but features some powerful architecture to bring high-resolution product photos, embedded video and engaging feature stories to readers.

Fishing Tackle Retailer reaches about 98% of the fishing retailers in the United States. “It’s a great way for manufacturers to get the word out to retailers on their new products, and a fantastic resource for retailers who want to know about those products” says Sills.
