OutdoorHub 02.14.14
Junior rifle shooters from across the country will compete for national titles at the 2014 US Army National Junior Air Rifle Championships February 24-26.
Juniors will compete in two classes: sporter and precision. The competition is organized and hosted by the U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit.
The event starts out with a clinic presented by Soldiers of the USAMU, to include Olympians, World and National Champions. Competitors will fire on targets for two days. An awards banquet on the evening of Feb 26 will conclude the event.
This U.S. Army-sponsored youth marksmanship championship promotes the development of rifle marksmanship skills among American youth and recognizes those who respond to this challenge. The USAMU supports our nation’s youth by fostering junior participation in prestigious state and national rifle competitions, promoting firearms safety, and connecting them with the expertise and professionalism of the Army and its Soldiers.
