Offshore Angler Frigate Spinning Reels Armed for Saltwater’s Toughest

Offshore Angler Frigate Spinning Reels are built to handle the rigors of saltwater fishing. Like their namesake ships, these saltwater spinning reels are heavily armed with features to handle the toughest fishing battles and come out ready to fight — and win — again and again.

It all starts with a durable, all-aluminum frame with a lightweight carbon fiber-reinforced composite rotor on the 5000–6000 models, and a rugged A360 aluminum rotor on 7000–8000 models. The guts include an 8-bearing system including Powerlock instant anti reverse for smooth and stable performance, and the stainless steel main shaft. Then all interior parts and surfaces are generously coated with a specially formulated, American-made Ocean Silk lubricant to operate smoothly despite the rigors of salt.

The Frigate’s spool is forged and double-anodized, with a braid-ready band to create traction and prevent slippage when tying braided line directly to the spool. The carbon fiber and Teflon drag stack slows battling game fish with firm yet smooth pressure you can easily adjust right up front as the battle progresses.

Offshore Angler Frigate Spinning Reels have a 4.9:1 gear ratio and are available in four sizes: 12/225, 14/265, 17/225, and 20/255 line capacities exclusively from Bass Pro Shops.
