Lake Guntersville to host Bassmaster Classic

The 2014 Bassmaster Classic will take place on Lake Guntersville, Ala., February 21st – 23rd and will host the most prolific anglers in the sport of bass fishing. Among those represented are three SpiderWire pros with championship aspirations.

Mike Iaconelli, Bobby Lane and Skeet Reese have their sights set on Guntersville, known for its big bags at weigh-in.

“I’ve had one win on Guntersville in 2010. I look on making this my second,” said Reese. “Each of the guys on the SpiderWire team fishing the Classic is capable of closing it out. You look at them, and you know they are fierce competitors. I am thrilled to compete in my 14th Classic and for representing SpiderWire.”

This year’s Classic SpiderWire team has two past Classic Champions with Mike Iaconelli and Skeet Reese. Bobby Lane, B.A.S.S. Rookie of the Year in 2005, rounds out the team.

“I am ready,” said Lane. “You know, I’ve got just as much chance as any of these other guys – why not me. I really like the way Guntersville fishes. It plays to some of my strengths, but I just don’t want to fish in the extreme cold. I don’t mind fishing in it, but I think a little warmth is needed to really turn that bite over.”
