Spring is a season of new beginnings in baseball and bowhunting, and few understand that better than ace pitcher Jon Lester of the World Champion Boston Red Sox. Lester, an avid bowhunter, joined Editor Christian Berg on the latest episode of the Petersen’s BOWHUNTING Radio podcast on iTunes.
Lester, whose 4-1 postseason record was pivotal in leading the Red Sox to their third World Series title in the past 10 years, said there are many similarities between the way he attacks Major League hitters and the way he approaches bowhunting, as both require dedicated preparation, meticulous attention to detail and the ability to execute under pressure. In the interview, the hard-throwing left-hander also talks about his favorite bowhunting equipment, quality deer-management efforts at his Georgia hunting property and efforts to promote the outdoor lifestyle as a member of the Mossy Oak pro staff. Listeners can download the Lester interview for free via the iTunes store or stream the show online. The interview will also be the subject of Berg’s column in the April/May issue of Petersen’s BOWHUNTING magazine, on sale March 11.
