2014 King of New England Kicks off with Mass. State IDPA Presented by Smith & Wesson

The quest for the 2014 King of New England title begins with the 18th Annual Massachusetts State IDPA Championship which organizers announced today will once again be presented by Smith & Wesson, the Springfield, Mass.-based firearms maker.
The match will be hosted by the Rod & Gun Club of New Bedford which has hosted the match since 1997. Match staff and VIPs are set to shoot on Friday, June 6, followed by the main body of competitors taking on the 10 stage course of fire Saturday and Sunday, June 7 and 8.
Registration for the 18th Annual Massachusetts State IDPA Championship, presented by Smith & Wesson, has already opened and the match has sold-out in record time. IDPA members interested in shooting the match can put their name on the wait list.
“We are excited to once again host the Massachusetts State IDPA Championship and very pleased to be working with presenting sponsor Smith & Wesson to provide IDPA members with the high level championship they’ve come to expect when chasing the Massachusetts state title,” said John Catterall, match director for the championship.

In addition to determining the Bay State’s top IDPA shooters, the Massachusetts State IDPA Championship is also the first leg of a three match King of New England series. Presented again this year by Apex Tactical Specialties, the King of New England is a three event concurrent competition featuring four (4) stages from each of New England’s biggest IDPA matches. The 2013 series was extremely popular with both match directors and competitors.
IDPA members interested in competing for the 2014 King of New England title must compete in all three events to qualify for the title, and are encouraged to register for each of the remaining events as soon as registration is announced.
