Guest host Ryan Michad from Handgun Radio joins forces this week with Handgun Newbie from the Practically Tactical podcast, JW from the AR-15 podcast, and Carol Salva from Fat 2 Fit HQ to discuss issues that should be considered by new shooters and the instructors of new shooters. Carol is new to the firearms lifestyle but she is enthusiastically pursuing the training and education needed to be an informed first-time gun buyer. Ryan, JW and Handgun Newbie provide advice and suggestions on initial gun selection, caliber choice, safety considerations, graduating up to larger calibers and larger firearms, and, finally, the need for continued training no matter how long a person has been shooting. Carol’s journey to firearm ownership will be documented across the Firearms Radio Network.
In addition to the good advice for new shooters, the guys provide their thoughts on ideas and mistakes that are made by instructors when working with new shooters. Individual attention, proper gun size and preparation of the new shooter for both noise and recall are all great ways to insure that the new shooter has a positive experience and sticks with the shooting sports.
Brownell’s Product Category Manager Paul Levy demonstrates the Redneck Tactical rapid bolt release tab for Benelli shotguns. This bolt release tab works on M1, M2, and Super Black Eagle shotguns. The bolt release is particularly useful for Three Gun and other similar competitive shooters. The installation is simple and it significantly increases the surface area of the bolt release at a very competitive price.
