Progressive Insurance, a leading provider of auto, boat and personal watercraft insurance, has joined the Inshore Fishing Association (IFA) as official sponsor for the 2014 season. In addition to being a sponsor of the IFA Redfish and Kayak Tours, Progressive will also sponsor the Lucas Oil IFA Pro-Am Redfish Challenge series presented by Cabela’s.

“We’re excited to partner with Progressive,” said IFA Marketing Director Bart Schad. “They’re passionate about the marine segment and bring a ton of value to IFA anglers. We’re thrilled to have them on board and look forward to working together.”

Progressive insures more than one million watercraft, and is the number one choice for boat insurance among independent agents in the United States, offering flexible, year-round coverage so boaters have peace of mind they’re protected. Specialty coverages which vary by state include Roadside Assistance, Personal Effects and Pet Injury.

“We feel good about joining forces with IFA,” said Rick Stern, boat product manager at Progressive. “It’s a top priority to make sure the anglers we cover know we understand their lifestyle and design coverage options like Fishing Equipment and Propulsion Plus® mechanical breakdown coverage to reflect that.”

Drawing inshore anglers from Texas to the Carolinas and beyond, the IFA Redfish Tour is the largest and oldest redfish tour in the nation. Offering anglers the opportunity to compete in low-entry fee events, redfish anglers can fish close to home, minimize expenses and compete for lucrative winnings and contingency prizes. The Lucas Oil IFA Pro-Am Redfish Challenge series is being billed as the ultimate redfish showdown, featuring the sport’s best anglers in a high stakes, made-for-TV competition.

The IFA Kayak Fishing Tour presented by Hobie Fishing is the fastest-growing kayak fishing tournament trail in the county. Kayak anglers competing in the catch-photograph-release tournaments can take advantage of the numerous money and product prizes awarded to competitors.
