Safariland congratulates team member Bobby McGee for winning the Stock Service Revolver (SSR) Division at the 2014 Puerto Rico IDPA Nationals held at the RL Shooting Club in Caguas, Puerto Rico. McGee competed with the Safariland Range Series – a line designed with IDPA sports in mind – wearing the Model 332 Range Belt and the Model 5187 Open Top Concealment Belt Holster for the S&W 686 revolver he used.
McGee’s first stage was the 25 yard standards with the challenge of shooting off balance kneeling around barrels. McGee shot this stage with an impressive performance which set the tone for the match. McGee stated, “When developing the Range Series we wanted gear well-suited for a variety of needs, including IDPA shooting sports, tactical range use and the concealed carry market. The rigid belt keeps gear close to my body which eliminates holster and mag pouch outward sag.”
More than 150 competitors gathered from places all over the world including Costa Rica, Mexico, Venezuela, and the US to compete at this prestigious event. With a round count of over 190, the PR IDPA Nationals offered 12 challenging stages which were designed to test competitors of all skill levels. The Puerto Rico IDPA Nationals is expanding IDPA’s international presence and emerging as a key early season match for shooters.
Safariland is proud to be one of the major match sponsors and is very proud of McGee’s performance this year. McGee also used the match to test a new speedloader pouch, which uses a tensioning device – something not found in other pouches.
