Shannon Reaser strives to make a difference in her school and her community. That’s why she pushed so hard to find a way to inform and help those who deal with bullies. Now teens and parents have an easier way to get the help they may need through a partnership between The Outdoor Option and Campus Impact. Shannon was instrumental in providing the link to this Lorain County group and has spearheaded this anti-bullying effort from day one.
Shannon is a junior at Elyria Catholic High School and co-hosts The Outdoor Option along with her brother, Danny, and father, Dan. Campus Impact, based in Amherst, Ohio, is all about creating positive social climates in our schools. They currently serve 162 schools in ten states from coast to coast.
“I see the impact bullying has on kids and parents,” Shannon said. “That’s why I wanted to set up a special link on our web site, so anyone can get the help or advice that’s out there. It’s now just a click away.” The link is free, and is now on The Outdoor Option home page or under the “Partners” category: www.theoutdooroption.com.
Campus Impact has been working with teachers and staff since 1999. They are known for their nationally recognized bullying and school violence prevention programs. Campus Impact designs relevant programs, based on practices and research that capture students’ attention and impact their lives.
The Outdoor Option airs nationally on Sportsman Channel Saturdays at 7:30pm, Mondays at 11:30am, Tuesdays at 4:30pm, and Fridays at 4:30am EST.
