Mexico Beach “Ling Ding” Set to Benefit RFA

Cobia fishermen along Florida’s Forgotten Coast, get ready for the 2014 John Thompson Memorial Mexico Beach – Ling Ding Tournament to be held during the first three consecutive weekends of April, the 4th-6th, 11th-13th, and the 18th-20th.

Enjoy nine full days of dinging ling, with $2,000 going to the top fish of the contest, $1,000 for second and $500 for third. A Yeti 105-quart cooler will also be awarded to each weekly winner.

Tournament entry fee is $175 per boat which also includes a 1-year membership with the Recreational Fishing Alliance (RFA). Active RFA members are encouraged to participate in this exciting 9-day event, as your entry fee will renew you for another year of political action on behalf of your right to fish.

Proceeds from the 2014 John Thompson Memorial Mexico Beach – Ling Ding Tournament will go to support both the RFA and the Mexico Beach Artificial Reef Association (MBARA). The official captain’s meeting will be held next Thursday, April 3rd. You can get entry information at Mexico Beach Marina & Outfitters; visit www.mexicobeachmarina.com for details or call 850-648-8900.

The 2014 John Thompson Memorial Mexico Beach – Ling Ding Tournament is being hosted by Mexico Beach Marina and is supported by BayCountyOutdoors.com, Yamaha outboards, Action-Craft boats, Salt Lick Sausage Company, 98 Real Estate Group, the Mexico Beach Community Development Council, MBARA and the RFA.
