As the warming waters and woods signal the coming of Spring to outdoor enthusiasts and adventure seekers, so too does the start of Outdoor Channel’s second quarter (Q2) programming lineup. Beginning today, March 31st, viewers will be able to enjoy a new slate of riveting TV shows on America’s Leader In Outdoor TV that is comprised of 73 new and returning favorites, in addition to a brand-new series: “NRA Gun Gurus presented by Henry.”
“Our Spring schedule is brimming with entertainment that highlights the thrills of the outdoors. And a large part of what makes those thrills so appealing to viewers and brands is the roster of incredible talent that we have both in front of and behind the camera,” said Jeffrey Wayne, Executive Vice President of Programming at Outdoor Channel. “From the dramatic to the wild and beyond, it promises to be a captivating season on Outdoor Channel.”
Hunters, archers , firearm enthusiasts, conservationists and history buffs will enjoy popular series starring Jim Shockey, Michael Waddell, Lee and Tiffany Lakosky, Ted Nugent, Terry and Mark Drury, Ralph and Vicki Cianciarulo, Mike Pawlawski, Michael Bane, Will Primos and Jim Burnworth, including: “Archer’s Choice with Ralph and Vicki” [Mondays 6:30 p.m. ET]; “Ted Nugent Spirit of the Wild” [Tuesdays 8:30 p.m. ET]; “Wardens” [Tuesdays 10:00 p.m.]; “Shooting Gallery” [Wednesdays 8:00 p.m. ET]; “Bow Madness” [Thursdays 10:00 p.m. ET]; “Gridiron Outdoors with Mike Pawlawski” [Saturdays 9:00 p.m. ET]; “Choose Your Weapon” [Saturdays 10:30 p.m. ET]; “Western Extreme” [Saturdays 11:00 p.m. ET]; “Crush with Lee & Tiffany” [Sundays at 7:30 p.m. ET]; “Primos Truth about Hunting” [Sundays 9:30 p.m. ET]; and “Michael Waddell’s Bone Collector” [Sundays 10:30 p.m. ET].
The network is proud to introduce “NRA Gun Gurus presented by Henry” [Wednesdays 7:00 p.m. ET] – a new half-hour series featuring sages Jim Supica and Phil Schreier. The two bring over a half century of experience in firearm history and are able to clarify the role handguns, rifles and other weapons have played in the settlement, expansion and preservation of the United States. They travel across the country, making stops at the NRA National Firearms Museum and the NRA National Sporting Arms Museum at Bass Pro Shops in Springfield, Missouri, meeting everyday gun owners to appraise their historic, monetary and sentimental firearm values.
Moreover, North America’s favorite father-daughter hunting duo, Jim and Eva Shockey of “Jim Shockey’s Hunting Adventures” [Sundays 8:00 p.m. ET], will continue to take audiences on globe-trotting expeditions to locations, such as the Alaska Yukon, the Arctic, Tanzania and Masialand. While the aforementioned areas may be considered remote, they’re not nearly as desolate and dangerous as the destinations Jim Shockey will traverse in his brand-new series “Uncharted,” which is slated to air this July.
Anglers will appreciate the casting and reeling action in reality, instructional and competition-driven series led by Tom Brokaw, Huey Lewis, Jared Jeffries, Mark Zona and Tommy Sanders, including: “Bottom Feeders presented by RAM” [Thursdays 9:00 p.m.]; “The Bassmasters” [Saturdays 5:30 p.m. ET]; “Buccaneers & Bones” [Saturdays 7:30 p.m. ET]; “Modern Fishing with Jared Jeffries” [Sundays 3:30 p.m. ET]; and “Madfin Shark Series” [Sundays 5:30 p.m. ET].
Twenty four of the world’s premier bass anglers took over Denton, Texas last Fall for the Shell Rotella Challenge Cup, the results of which will appear in “Jack Link’s Major League Fishing” [Thursdays 8:00 p.m. ET]. The pressure is on amongst the fierce professional competitors to finish strong as they’re angling toward the prestigious Major League Fishing winner title. The fifth season of the series features such renowned anglers as Gary Klein, Aaron Martens, Skeet Reese and Kevin VanDam. With the Challenge Cup Championship Round set to air on CBS Sports in May, the added exposure showcases how quickly the league has taken off.
The high-intensity competitions continue with “Ultimate Match Fishing” (UMF) [Sundays 9:30 a.m. ET]. Hosted by Joe Thomas, alongside Mark Randolph and Fish Fishburne, this bass fishing game is all about the matchups. Twelve of the world’s leading bass anglers from both the BASS Elite Series and the FLW Tour are pit against each other in a head-to-head, seeded, bracketed, single elimination competition. First up are former UMF Champions Jeff Kriet and Anthony Gagliardi.
