Outdoor Channel Launches Spring Fever Sweepstakes

Experiencing “Spring Fever”? The perfect cure for the annual ailment is the chance to reel in the latest fishing, hunting, biking and camping gear – all brought to you by Outdoor Channel, America’s Leader In Outdoor TV.
Today, Outdoor Channel launched its eighth annual Spring Fever sweepstakes, running throughout the entire month of April. Leveraging traditional, digital and social media, the network encourages consumers to enter the sweepstakes for a chance to win daily outdoor gear and prizes, plus a shot at the grand prize – the choice of a 2014 1575 Travel Trailer or 825 Truck Camper, presented by title sponsor, GoRVing.
To promote the sweepstakes, Outdoor Channel is running cross-channel spots featuring Pat and Nicole Reeve of “Driven with Pat & Nicole” and Joe Thomas of “Stihl’s Reel in the Outdoors” and “Scent-Lok’s High Places.” Additionally, the network is engaging consumers via its digital and social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube, to drive participation. The multi-platform campaign directs consumers to the dedicated Spring Fever microsite to enter the sweepstakes.
Consumers are able to view the daily prize offerings from participating sponsors, such as Mossy Oak and Shell Rotella, via the microsite. Prizes up for grabs include Mossy Oak Obsession patterned Under Armour apparel; Shell Rotella motor oil; DICK’S Sporting Goods and Bass Pro Shops gift cards; binoculars, laser rangefinders and GPS provided by Bushnell; Primos Double Bull Ground Blinds; Oakley sunglasses; and much more. Consumers are encouraged to enter every day as there are nearly 50 prizes valued at more than $40,000 being offered.
Designed to drum up excitement for enthusiasts that have been eagerly awaiting the chance to head outdoors for fishing or turkey season, Spring Fever is also meant to fuel local ad sales efforts by generating viewer engagement and added audience interest, as well as drive new affiliate opportunities. Last year alone, more than 50 million subscribers were represented from the participating affiliates; as a result more than 162,000 consumers enrolled in the sweepstakes.
