Civic Leaders Welcome Gander Mountain to Fenton

Outdoors enthusiasts are used to getting up early for pursuits like running, hunting, hiking, fishing and boating. On Tuesday, outdoors enthusiasts in metro St. Louis got up early to welcome an important new neighbor to the region. Civic leaders gathered in Fenton for the ribbon-cutting ceremony that officially opened Missouri’s first Gander Mountain store. The newly-remodeled 65,000 square-foot facility is located at 751 Gravois Bluffs Boulevard in the Gravois Bluffs Shopping Center, near the intersection of Highway 30 and Highway 141.

“It’s an exciting thing to bring our great selection of merchandise, a sharp look and a new shopping experience to the people of metro St. Louis,” said David Pratt, Gander Mountain’s CEO. “We’re giving our newest fans a great place to get the best gear and expertise at the best prices.”

A group of local dignitaries gathered for the ribbon cutting outside the store’s impressive front entrance, including Fenton mayor Mike Polizzi, Fenton director of parks Tom Diven, St. Louis County police captain Jeff Bader, Fenton Chamber of Commerce executive director Jeannie Braun and store manager Will Munroe.

“This new Gander Mountain store is an exciting addition to Fenton, and we are proud that they chose our community for their first store in Missouri,” said Braun.

The store’s official grand opening weekend will be held April 10-13 and will include a full slate of celebrity appearances, giveaways and other special events. Visit www.gandermountain.com for a full schedule of events listed under the Fenton store location.
