Officials from Orion Entertainment announced that the RAM Trucks Drive to the Outdoors campaign won Honorable Mention at the 2014 Cynopsis Sports Media Awards in the ‘Marketing Campaign for Brands’ category. The Cynopsis Sports Media Awards honor outstanding work in the sports media industry over the past year and categories included television series, radio and live events as well as digital and marketing campaigns.
“We’re honored to be recognized with such notable company,” says Orion President Chris Dorsey. “But no marketing partner can succeed without a client willing to disrupt, take risks, and redefine static conventions. After all, this is what it takes to be a category leader, and the greatest challenges to most corporate cultures is doing this in the best of times. Most brands ride good times until they’re forced by economics and competition to adjust strategies–by then it’s too late as a status quo culture takes time to reinvigorate and the marketplace doesn’t wait. Having worked closely with the Ram Trucks leadership team for several years, it’s easy to see why they continue to soar.”
By integrating the best in video, writing, and photography, the RAM Trucks Drive to the Outdoors campaign continues to reach over 50 million consumers in the $76 billion outdoor entertainment industry. The campaign includes six television series – RAM Outdoorsman, ATK’s Grateful Nation, Winchester Legends, Winchester World of Whitetail, Winchester Rack Masters, and Swarovski Optik Quests – the digital RAM Outdoorsman eZine, print advertising, social media presence from the RAM Outdoorsman pro staff, and promotional videos.
First place in the ‘Marketing for Brands’ category went to FedEx for FedEx Golf Club Shipping – The Ultimate Caddy. The elite field of nominees included The Coca-Cola Company – Coke Zero 2014 ESPN College Gameday, US Olympic Committee – US Olympic Committee’s Road to Sochi Tour, Packaged Sports & Entertainment – EA Sports Madden NFL 25 GMC Test Drive, Packaged Sports & Entertainment – EA Sports Madden NFL 25 Pepsi Max/Madden Legends Sweepstakes, and Ogilvy & CDW – Winning on the Road. Winners in other categories include NASCAR, Coke Zero, ESPN, FOX Sports, MLB Productions, Turner Sports, State Farm, NFL Network, NBA Network, and USA Today.
The first-place winners and honorable mention winners were announced at the third annual Cynopsis Sports Media Awards Breakfast at the Yale Club in New York City.
