Living Alaska wraps its first season atop HGTV’s line-up
Officials from Orion Entertainment, one of America’s leading lifestyle television producers, announced that the new series Living Alaska currently ranks as the highest rated program on HGTV out of 22 series for 2014, as an average of more than 1.6 million American households tuned in each airing. Living Alaska edged HGTV’s hit Property Brothers series. And Living Alaska finished number one in the coveted male 25-54 demographic.
Living Alaska follows families leaving the lower 48 behind as they search for new property and a new reality in Alaska. The series combines memorable characters, stunning visuals, and the unique off-the-grid lifestyle elements that can only be found in the 49th state.
Another Orion series – Building Alaska – continued its successful run on the DIY Network, ranking as the 6th-highest rated series out of 27 programs in 2014, and 2nd-highest rated show among men 25-54. Building Alaska follows three builders who work at remote locations under unforgiving conditions as they struggle to finish their projects despite the physical and emotional challenges of total isolation, harsh weather conditions, and dangerous wildlife. Both series have received multiple year renewals.
Orion’s Kodiak series will premiere on Discovery yet this month and two other Orion productions from Alaska will hit air this summer on National Geographic and Travel Channel.
