Sharon Carpenter (FL) found herself hoisting her third consecutive Brunton Southwest Shootout buckle over the weekend. Carpenter, who undoubtedly loves shooting in Texas, entered the shoot down with a sizable 20 point lead over second place and fellow Bohning shooters Ginger Morehead (IN) and Cara Fernandez (MI). After all was said and done, Carpenter was able to hold off the pressure from Fernandez and Morehead as they finished second and third respectively. Carpenter was shooting Blazer® X2 vanes.
In the Senior Pro Division, Tom Crowe (OR) was also able to hold off fellow Bohning Staff shooters Carl Adkins (LA), Randall Jones (GA), and Richard Freeland (LA) as Bohning yet again swept the podium with Crowe finishing first, Adkins second, and Jones third. Crowe won the event shooting the 2″ Blazer® vanes.
The Men’s Open Pro Division also saw its fair share of Bohning shooters with Jame Jamison (OK), Justin Bethel (TX), and Jeff Hopkins (IA) all sporting Bohning vanes. Jamison entered the shoot off focused on his first podium finish this year, with Bethel looking to return to the podium in his home state for the second straight year. Forcing a 6th arrow with Joseph Goza, Jamison was edged by Goza for the win, finishing in second for the weekend and his first podium finish of the year. Jamison, like Crowe, was also shooting 2″ Blazer® Vanes.
ASA Pro division contestants shoot two rounds of twenty targets from unmarked yardages out to 50 yards. Concluding the two rounds of twenty, the five highest scores qualify for the shoot off where the winner will be decided.
Bohning finished out the weekend with over 30 amateur podium finishes. “Everyone at Bohning would like to congratulate all of our shooters! Knowing that, when every shot matters, so many shooters trust in our products both on the tournament trail and in the field means a great deal.” -Michael Collins, Director of North American Sales.
