Friends and Loved Ones to Host Benefit Auction for the Family of Larry Garner Jr.

   05.14.14

Around the nation, friends and family of Larry Garner Jr. are coming together in the wake of his death to help pay lingering medical bills. On June 1, friends from the outdoors, professional racing and Major League Baseball community will gather for a “Camo and Bows” benefit dinner and auction to celebrate the life of Larry Jr., who died of cancer in October 2013.

“The people who have come out in support of this event is a testament to Larry Jr.’s character and the kind of person he was,” said Jeff Foxworthy. “He was a guy you could always call on, whether you needed help around the farm or simply a friend to listen to you. The auction is a wonderful opportunity to honor his life and allow us to help in a small way.”

There are over 200 items up for auction, including a 1955 Chevrolet 2-door hardtop Bel Air, completely restored in 1991 and autographed by Dale Earnhardt, Sr. on April 10th, 2000.  Items donated also include vacations, guided hunting trips, bows and guns, NASCAR items, baseball memorabilia and apparel/gear packages from Realtree and Mossy Oak. The public is invited to attend the auction, either in person or online. Tickets can be purchased at local businesses (see brochure for addresses) in La Grange, Ga. or online. The live streaming auction can be accessed here. If you plan to be bid online, please register before the auction starts.

Celebrity attendees and special guests include, comedian Jeff Foxworthy, Travis “T-Bone” Turner and Nick Mundt of Bone Collector and former MLB players J.D. Drew, Darren Holmes and Kevin Millwood. VIP packages are available for purchase.
