Mercury Marine Joins Marinemax on Saltwater Series

MarineMax announced today that Mercury Marine has become an official sponsor of the MarineMax Saltwater Series fishing tournaments.

The MarineMax Saltwater Series consists of more than 30 tournaments that many of MarineMax’s 54 stores sponsor or participate in during the tournament season. The tournaments often benefit local charities and causes. The series and the MarineMax Saltwater Series Sweepstakes have established MarineMax as the leader in local tournament engagement and support.

“We’re excited about supporting the MarineMax Saltwater Series of community-based tournaments,” said Rob Riesterer, Mercury’s National Accounts Manager. “The tournament series provides a great opportunity for Mercury Marine to tell its story regarding our superior reliability, exceptional saltwater performance, industry-leading protection against corrosion and our passion for saltwater angling and conservation on a grassroots level.”

Mercury Marine, headquartered in Fond du Lac, Wis., is dedicated to producing the most reliable and most fuel-efficient outboards. Saltwater demands more from an outboard. Mercury uses more stainless steel components than other builders of outboards, and its exclusive low-copper XK360 aluminum alloy provides greater protection from the corrosive saltwater environment.

“Mercury is a natural choice to sponsor the Saltwater Series;” explained Josie Tucci, MarineMax vice president of Marketing. “Their long-term relationship with Boston Whaler, the presenting partner, and Mercury’s dedication to maintaining their performance leadership in the saltwater fish boat market, make this a perfect fit.”
