It’s off to Cape Cod and Martha’s Vineyard in Massachusetts this weekend for the Shimano’s ‘Surf Crew’, their third stop at key surf fishing sites on the East Coast to introduce Shimano’s new ‘Long Cast Surf System.’ Shimano surf expert Roy Leyva will be beach side at both events. Anglers can test to see how much more casting distance they achieve when using one of the new Aero Technium XS-C, Ultegra CI4+ XSB or Ultegra XS-C spinning reels, rigged on a new Tiralejo surf rod.
Saturday’s surf event – June 14 – is on Martha’s Vineyard from 10:30am until noon. Leyva will be demo the tackle at on Eastville Beach in Oak Bluffs.
On Father’s Day – Sunday, June 15 – the Surf Crew will be at Bass River Beach (72 S. Shore Drive) in South Yarmouth. Anglers can try out the new Shimano surf system from 5:30pm until 7:30 – Leyva notes that he expects a few stripers to cooperate during the late afternoon bite.
Shimano’s new ‘Long Cast Surf System’ tackle will soon be available from select tackle dealers up and down the East Coast. For more information on the reels and rods, visit fish.shimano.com.
