BLADE Show booth exhibitors voted on the various Knife-Of-The-Year award winners from a total of 120 entries, all of which are submitted in person at the BLADE Show. This year was also the first time fans could vote online for the People’s Choice Knife-Of-The-Year® award, which eventually went to the RAT Worx MRX.
This year’s 2014 Cutlery Hall of Fame Inductee was A.G. Russell Knives’ Goldie Russell, who won for her work uniting the knife industry to advance important legislative initiatives and for her outstanding achievements running her family’s business. Russell is the 51st person and first woman to earn a place in the Cutlery Hall of Fame. Goldie joins her husband, A.G., to be the first married couple inducted. In addition to booth-selected awards, the reception also recognized two awards decided upon by the BLADE Magazine staff. The Publisher’s Award, which goes to individuals who go above and beyond the call in helping further the causes of the knife industry, went to Mark Zalesky. The Industry Achievement Award, a lifetime accomplishment award recognizing superior careers in the knife industry, went to Aldo and Edda Lorenzi.
