S.W.A.T. Magazine July Issue Looks at .300 AAC, Handgun Capacity

The July issue of S.W.A.T. Magazine is on newsstands everywhere.

The .300 AAC Blackout has become very popular, and some go so far as to say it should replace the 5.56X45mm as our military’s main cartridge. We hit the range with a CMMG carbine to evaluate the firearm and cartridge.

Can there be such a thing as “too much” capacity in a handgun? Many shooters are capably armed with lightweight revolvers or single-stack belly guns. But every shooter should examine their environment and employment methods and determine what their required capacity is.

The July S.W.A.T. Sweepstakes features an Arsenal Inc. SGL31-68 AK Rifle, chambered for 5.45×39mm. The Sweepstakes also includes 750 rounds of Silver Bear Ammunition, six extra magazines, a U.S. PALM Attack Rack, and ESS Crossbow Eye Pro for a total value of over $2,000!

The Internet has been ablaze over the G2 Research RIP round-a nasty-looking solid-copper hollow point. We decided to find out what all the buzz is about. Sure, it looks awesome, but is it really ready for prime time, or really even new?

Even the most carefully prepared households may have overlooked something they’ll need during a crisis. If you’re concerned about your chances of surviving a disaster, don’t miss the feature on the ten most neglected preps.

In other articles, we look at field shooting positions for the real world, extreme range shooting with the Ruger SR-762, and much more, including S.W.A.T.’s must-read columns.
