The Quality Deer Management Association (QDMA) is proud to announce that it will be the presenting sponsor of the 2014 American Whitetail Authority (AWA) Whitetail Pro Series TV show that will air on the Pursuit channel in the third and fourth quarters.
The 2014 Whitetail Pro Series puts hunters to the test with some of the most challenging and realistic hunting circumstances available anywhere in the whitetail’s range. Contestants are given only one day to scout thousands of acres they’ve never visited, then two days to hunt using blank rounds and digital scopes to record their shots, after which their shots are judged by AWA officials and scored according to each deer’s relative age, sex, antler quality and shot placement.
“QDMA is pleased to serve as the presenting sponsor of the 2014 AWA Pro Series because this show features a unique hunting format that is both entertaining and educational,” said QDMA CEO Brian Murphy. “Unlike competitive fishing, gauging individual deer hunter ability is extremely difficult, especially when hunters have no prior knowledge of the property being hunted. This show is as close to a real-world hunting situation as it comes, thereby providing useful tips and strategies for the novice and expert hunter alike.”
“With QDMA’s vast expertise in deer biology, hunting and management, there is no better sponsor for our TV show,” said David Fort, AWA President. “QDMA also will be providing educational and technical support for our show, website (AWApro.com) and overall competition structure and format. This exciting partnership will ensure the Whitetail Pro Series is world-class in all respects.”
This year’s season will feature two qualifying events – one on the 14,000-acre Roblyn’s Neck Hunt Club in Darlington, South Carolina, and one on 4,000 acres of the state line Bone Mine in Luray, Missouri. The top hunters from both events then go on to compete in the Whitetail Pro Series finals with Kansas Big Buck Outfitters in Columbus, Kansas, with the 2014 Champion being revealed in the show’s season finale.
The show will air three times each week on the Pursuit Channel during the third and fourth quarters
