Minn Kota Adds New Features to i-Pilot Link with Software Update

Improving on the best wireless GPS trolling system on the water, Minn Kota announces the addition of new features to i-Pilot Link. These features will be provided through a free software update at Humminbird.com and can be previewed at Minn Kota’s ICAST booth, #1041, starting Wednesday, July 16.
Available Fall 2014, the downloadable update will allow anglers to take their i-Pilot Link to the next level with new features, including iTrack Offset, iTrack Labeling, BackTrack Select, Prop Auto-on, Route Select and High Speed Bypass.
“One of the best things about i-Pilot Link is that we can take feedback from anglers and evolve the product through software updates,” Minn Kota Senior Product Manager Dave Maryanov said. “We can continuously add features and enhanced functionality to provide value to anglers.”
iTrack Offset lets anglers adjust the location and position of their saved iTracks to fit the way they fish. The software update also includes iTrack Labeling, which now allows anglers to assign a name to iTracks for better organization on the screen.
BackTrack Select allows users to now select a specific BackTrack distance in 0.1-mile increments, making it more versatile for different fishing situations.
Prop Auto-on is a user-selectable option allowing anglers to have the prop automatically turn on whenever a Go To function is executed instead of having to manually activate it each time.
The Route Select feature now shows recorded routes on the map screen of the Humminbird unit rather than only being accessible through Waypoint Management. This provides simple, automatic navigation of recorded routes.
The High Speed Bypass function allows users to hit top speed on-demand and return back to original speed at the push of a button. This is extremely valuable for maneuverability and making quick motor adjustments.
