Fishpond Smartly Expands Its Product Offerings for 2015

Fishpond, inc, is excited to unveil its new 2015 product line-up, including the introduction of CYCLEPOND™ fabric made from recycled commercial fishing nets throughout many more of the brand’s line of luggage, gear bags, packs and more.

Sourced from fishing nets used to for ocean fishing, fishpond’s CYCLEPOND fabric delivers bomber, long lasting performance with a great recycled story. The newWestwater Roll Top Backpack (MSRP: $149.95) with CYCLEPOND is sure to make river rats rejoice. This completely submersible pack combines the functionality of a roll top dry bag design with the convenience of a backpack with its fully adjustable straps and comfortable waist strap. The Westwater Roll Top Backpack won the Best Eco-Friendly Product award at the International Fly Tackle Dealers (IFTD) show in Orlando last week.

Continuing to offer anglers a wide range of packs to carry the necessities, fishpond brings the Delta Sling Pack (MSRP: $149.95) to market featuring a completely new design for sling packs. The military-inspired pack allows users to easily switch between shoulders for all day comfort, and the expansive storage compartments holds everything needed for a long day on the water. A magnetic front pocket holds fly boxes, rain jacket and lunch, and a built-in Velcro™ attachment in the main pocket accommodates a pistol. The structured mesh panel on the back helps comfortably carry heavy loads in hot weather. The Delta Sling Pack won the IFTD award for Best Chest Pack/Vest.

The River Bank Backpack (MSRP: $149.95) has an old-school exterior look with its waxed canvas fabric but a new school interior with CYCLEPOND fabric and a padded, Velcro laptop slot. Plenty of exterior zippered pockets and a padded back panel make this pack ideal for an impromptu hike or a day on the streets in the city.

After a very successful integration of Nomad Nets, fishpond introduces three new net sizes with the Nomad El Jefe (MSRP: $199.95), Nomad El Jefe Grande Nets (MSRP: $219.95) and the Nomad Native Net (MSRP: $125.95). The El Jefe measures 41.5 inches in length and has a 13 x 21.75 inch head. The El Jefe Grande measures at 52.4 inches in length with the same size head. The Native is 25.5 inches long with a head size of 8.5 x 17 inches.

In the accessories category, fishpond upped its game with the fishpond Sushi Roll (MSRP: $29.95) to carry large streamers, the Headgate Tippet Holder (MSRP: $19.95) and the Barracuda Aluminum/Razor Clippers (MSRP: $29.95 and replacement blade $4.95). The fishpond Sushi Roll lays flat to easily see each fly, but when rolled, an added layer gives dimension so each fly has room to dry and not be crushed or smashed. The Headgate Tippet Holder has a spring-loaded hinge to easily add and remove up to seven tippet spools. Anodized aluminum ensures durability and the retractor/lanyard attachments means anglers can clip this to a pack, waders or anywhere else. As an added bonus, the Headgate has a replaceable razorblade line cutter so the days of searching for nippers to cut tippet are gone. The Barracuda Clippers are made from aerospace-grade, tubular aluminum for a sleek design, and the stainless steel blade offers a cleaner and more consistent cut and can be replaced on one side once worn.

Beyond these new product offerings, fishpond expands the use of the CYCLEPOND fabric through many of its products including the: Wildhorse Tech Pack, Wasatch Tech Pack, Vaquero Vest, Gore Range Tech Pack, Arroyo Chest Pack, Waterdance Guide Pack, Nimbus Guide Pack, Flint Hills Lumbar Pack, and Yellowstone Wader/Duffel Bag. The Boulder Briefcase and the Cabin Creek Toiletry Kit see an update with fishpond’s 16oz. waxed canvas fabric.
