David Feckley, of Wylie, Texas, was elected to Ducks Unlimited Inc.’s national board of directors during the organization’s annual convention in St. Louis.
“The leadership of our board of directors ensures we are fulfilling our mission to conserve, restore and manage wetlands and associated habitats for North America’s waterfowl,” said DU CEO Dale Hall. “Our board members are not paid for their work. They volunteer their time and resources because they feel so strongly about conservation. I welcome each new member and look forward to working with them in the years to come.”
Feckley was introduced to Ducks Unlimited more than 30 years ago when his father took him to a DU event. Since then, he has been involved with DU in a variety of ways. He is currently a Diamond Life Sponsor serving his second term on DU’s Conservation Programs Committee.
Through his position as senior natural resources manager for Nestle Waters, Feckley has helped DU form a partnership with the company to better manage and maintain existing wetlands on their property in east Texas. Nestle Waters has also invested in DU’s Gulf Coast Initiative.
“Since clean water is vitally important to our company and DU, and wetland habitats serve an enormous role in providing clean water, helping preserve and restore those habitats is important to both of us,” Feckely said.
Feckley knows if you care deeply about leaving a waterfowl legacy to your children and others, supporting an organization like DU is one of the most satisfying ways to do so in your lifetime.
“Supporting DU is just one of those things you can’t wait for someone else to do for you,” he said. “I think DU does a remarkable job of preserving acres on the ground, and I am happy to help with that and assist in DU’s heritage of preserving wetland habitats.”
