Team Ritter/Abruscato Wins IFA Redfish Tour Event at Lafitte, Louisiana

Scott Ritter, of Dauphin Island, Alabama, and Bobby Abruscato, of Mobile, Alabama, weighed a two-redfish limit that totaled 18.65 pounds to win the final regular-season event for the Louisiana Division of the IFA Redfish Tour presented by Cabela’s on Aug. 2 at Lafitte, Louisiana.
The team ran 65 miles to the Venice area, fishing Gulp!, Berkley Powerbait and spinner baits to catch their limit. Previous three-time winners on the IFA Redfish Tour, the anglers beat out the competition by over a pound and a half. The duo won the $29,414 first-place prize and added $2,680 in Anglers Advantage cash.
Second-place finishers Nash Roberts, of Metairie, Louisiana, and Luke Landry, of Arabi, Louisiana, brought 17.13 pounds to the scales to take home at total of $4,001 in winnings.
“The conditions were perfect for fishing during the days of scouting as well as of the day of the tournament,” said Roberts. “The fishing improved as the tide increased and the wind lightened, clearing the water.”
The anglers ran 65 miles south of Lafitte, sight-fishing swimbaits.
“We lost a few fish but overall performed well,” Roberts said.
Nicky Savoie, of Lockport, Louisiana, and Lance Reynolds, of Cut Off, Louisiana, added to their list of top-five finishes on the IFA Redfish Tour. Coming in a close third with their 17.04 pounds of redfish, the team took home $1,454 in winnings for their efforts.
