Alaskan Seafood Special on Sportsman Channel’s “MeatEater” this Thursday at 8 p.m. ET/PT

In this week’s episode of the hit show MeatEater, Steven Rinella, host, heads north to fish the pristine waters of Alaska. A day’s worth of fishing and digging for clams provides Rinella with plenty of options for freezing and storing. But the main event is Rinella’s preparation of a flavorful crab recipe.  Emerald waters and soaring mountaintops make for a stunning backdrop to Rinella’s Alaskan seafood cooking special on Sportsman Channel, Thursday, August 7 at 8 p.m. ET/PT.

Rinella ventures out into the Alaskan waters to catch everything from rockfish and crab, to spotted prawn and clams. But first, he demonstrates how to clean and prepare seafood to freeze and store.  Rinella then introduces viewers to a savory crab frittata – an excellent use of crab nearing the end of its freezer life.

“I consider seafood to be a luxury, because its shelf life is only about a month. You have to use it or lose it,” said Rinella. “But there are recipes and ways to prep a day’s catch that bring out the most flavorful side of any fish or clam, from the day you catch it up to four weeks later.”

MeatEater airs exclusively on Sportsman Channel, Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
