Instead of a conventional coiled spring, the Umarex Fuel is equipped with the nitrogen powered ReAxis gas piston. Unlike other nitrogen-filled gas springs, the Umarex ReAxis is the first reversed-axis gas piston-meaning the gas strut is turned 180 degrees on its axis causing the larger mass of the strut to push the piston instead of the rod; thereby generating more power, which equates to more velocity and impact than other gas pistons. The ReAxis provides a smooth and constant cocking effort, reduces felt recoil, lowers the air rifle’s noise level, minimizes stock vibration, and provides a consistent, powerful velocity over its lifetime.
The ReAxis system turns the new Umarex Fuel into a .177 caliber powerhouse that slings alloy pellets down range at 1200 fps with a lead pellet capable of reaching 1000 fps-and does it without the loud, sharp “bang” of a firearm. The integrated SilencAir Noise Dampening System reduces further auditory report with a permanently affixed five-chamber noise dampener that significantly decreases the down-range sound of the shot, especially when shooting outdoors.
Modern technology doesn’t just improve the Fuel’s performance; it also advances the comfort of the shooter. The Fuel is equipped with a synthetic black stock and rubber recoil pad that seats comfortably against the shoulder. While its ambidextrous thumbhole stock supports many shooting positions and grip techniques, it is the built-in folding tactical bipod that ensures the Umarex Fuel is ready for steady target acquisition.
Perfect as a highly accurate target rifle, for small game hunting or pest control, the Fuel is equipped with a micro-adjustable fiber-optic rear sight and a bright fiber optic front sight. It also comes with a pre-mounted metal Picatinny rail designed to easily lock down the included 3-9×32 air rifle scope, keeping it on zero.
