Weatherby Slug Gun Wins Readers’ Choice Award

Weatherby’s PA-08 Upland Combo topped the “Slug Guns” category in the 2014 Game & Fish/Sportsman Readers’ Choice Awards for deer gear. The WBY-X Series 2 Whitetail Bonz rifle was a close runner-up in the “Centerfire Guns” category.
Nearly 3,000 hunters cast their votes via the annual survey of Game & Fish/Sportsman readers. On average, the voters had been hunting deer for more than 30 years, and three out of five considered themselves “expert” or “advanced” deer hunters.
“Our editors test all types of hunting equipment each month in our magazines, but it’s also good to get the perspective of dedicated hunters who read the magazines and visit our websites,” said Peter Gross, Game & Fish/Sportsman publisher. “They are extremely well informed and enjoy sharing their opinions about the sport they love.”

Readers’ Choice results were announced in the July/August 2014 issues of Game & Fish/Sportsman, which publishes 28 state- or region-specific magazines monthly.
