Sportsman Channel, the leader in outdoor television for American sportsmen and women, announced the network remains the exclusive national television partner and Official Network of the Iditarod. The exclusive renewal will continue the ambitious partnership with the event and utilize a full complement of media assets from Sportsman and InterMedia Outdoors, the most powerful combination in outdoor media. Coverage will include a full slate of programming, culminating with coverage of the 2015 Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race, along with extensive print, digital and social media activation. The announcement was made today by Gavin Harvey, CEO of Sportsman Channel.
The Iditarod – “The Last Great Race On Earth” – entered into an exclusive national television partnership with Sportsman Channel for the 2014 race. Iditarod Productions will continue to produce the annual sled dog spectacle and provide extensive, in-depth coverage, video and updates through a robust online platform for Sportsman Channel and The Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race websites.
As the Official Network of The Iditarod, Sportsman Channel will exclusively showcase the dramatic stories of The Iditarod – including the incredible sled dogs, the indefatigable men and women, the punishing adventure, and spectacular Alaskan frontier – with multiple hours of race programming and specials.
“The dramatic finish of the 2014 Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race proves why Sportsman Channel values this event like none other,” said Marc Fein, executive vice president of programming and production at Sportsman Channel. “This iconic American and Alaskan celebration of will and determination epitomizes Sportsman Channel’s red, wild and blue programming initiative. We continue to be honored with this collaborative partnership and the network’s exclusive designation as the Official Network of the Iditarod.”
“As a result of last year’s collaborative partnership with Sportsman Channel and the excitement we all experienced with the ending of the race, we are thrilled to have Sportsman Channel continue as the Official Network of the Iditarod,” said Stan Hooley, executive director of the Iditarod Trail Committee. “Sportsman Channel’s commitment as the leader in outdoor television programming was evident during last year’s event and we look forward to viewers experiencing the full drama of the 2015 race in multiple media platforms throughout next year’s race.”
The 2015 Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race will begin on March 7 in Anchorage, Alaska. For more information go to: www.thesportsmanchannel.com.
