For Larry Weishuhn, lifelong outdoorsman and host of Sportsman Channel’s Trailing the Hunter’s Moon, nothing beats hunting whitetail deer – especially when it includes family, old friends and a trip to his beloved South Texas Brush Country – the “mecca” of monster deer. In a four-part whitetail special, “Mr. Whitetail” himself embarks on an adventure-filled journey where finding the best whitetail is only part of the fun. The four-part Trailing the Hunter’s Moon whitetail special begins Saturday, October 25 at 9:30 a.m. ET on Sportsman Channel.
For the next four weeks, join Weishuhn as he focuses on good times and all things whitetail deer. From an endearing hunt with his grandkids to laughs in the field with good friends, viewers will experience a wide range of thrilling and challenging hunts. Weishuhn’s passion for whitetail hunting is eminent, but it becomes a daunting task when winter ice storms engulf his hunting location in Texas. Deep freeze temperatures aside, Weishuhn demonstrates the importance of persevering to – hopefully – obtain the ideal outcome while hunting.
“I’m a fan of all wild game, but my real passion is hunting whitetail deer,” said Weishuhn. “Having the opportunity to spend time hunting with friends and family makes it even better. Although I can’t say the freezing temperatures on some of my hunts helped at all. But you have to persevere and make the best of it!”
Trailing the Hunter’s Moon was Sportsman Channel’s top-ranked weekend half hour in average households through the fourth quarter-to-date.
