Vanguard Endeavor XF 60S Spotting Scope

Vanguard has been well-known in the photography and video industry for 25 years. Vanguard has a reputation for offering great quality products with useful features at reasonable prices.

Recently, Vanguard has introduced the Endeavor line of spotting scopes, presenting a well-made spotting scope at a low cost.

Shopping for the right spotting scope to fit your need can be frustrating, especially if you order online or buy from a store–there is no way to truly test it out. I have put the Endeavor XF 60S to the test in several scenarios to see if it is as versatile and reliable as Vanguard has advertised, hopefully making the shopping process a bit easier for you.

The Endeavor XF60S comes with a matching carrying case and detachable lens covers.

The XF 60S arrived properly packaged. When opening the package I was immediately attracted to the hunter green color, which gives the spotting scope a look of class and ruggedness. Vanguard also included a well-made and color-matching carrying case with detachable covers for the lens.

Knowing that most wildlife movement takes place at dawn or dusk, I tested the Endeavor XF 60S in lowlight situations and found that the scope allowed plenty of light with a good field of view to clearly see animals up close and at distances well over 600 yards. The focus and magnification were easy to adjust even while wearing a pair of gloves. I tested the clarity of the lens by using the Endeavor XF 60S at a shooting range and was able to see bullet holes at 100 and 200 yards, as well as lead marks on a metal plate at 300 yards with extreme glare from the midday sun.

The Endeavor held up to its fog-proof claim as well. I tested the spotting scope at an outdoor temperature of 88 degrees Fahrenheit with 80 percent humidity, and even brought the scope indoors to a temperature of 73 degrees, then back outside. I brought my camera along for the test as well for a control of sorts and was impressed to discover that the Endeavor spotting scope lens stayed fog-proof, while my camera’s lens did not.

Vanguard boasts that the Endeavor XF 60S is tightly sealed and waterproof. After testing the XF 60S in the rain with no issues, I completely submerged the spotting scope in a sink of cold water. The spotting scope still performed perfectly, and I was unable to find any indication that water had penetrated into the tightly sealed body.

The XF 60S is just as waterproof as the feature list claims--it functioned flawlessly after a nice cool bath in the sink.

The Vanguard Endeavor XF 60S adds to the company’s reputation of producing superior quality products at affordable prices. This spotting scope is very well built with good magnification and a clear field of view.

The spotting scope can be easily packed for a hike or any type of hunt with a weight of only 2.13 pounds and length less than 14 inches. The XF 60S allows for comfortable viewing for extended periods of spotting without eye fatigue, in both lowlight and high-glare conditions. Vanguard’s Premium Lifetime Warranty–meaning they will repair or replace your Endeavor spotting scope with no questions asked–means the XF 60S will give the bigger name spotting scopes some serious competition.

The next time you are in the market for a spotting scope, give Vanguard’s new line of optics a try. You will be impressed.

Author’s note: After performing a series of tests on the Vanguard Endeavor XF 60S Spotting Scope and the Vanguard ABEO 243AV tripod, I highly recommend each and have found that when used together they make a fantastic combination with outstanding features. Vanguard has once again offered high-quality products at affordable prices.
