Drake Waterfowl Wingshooter’s Dove Belt

I tried to get one of these Drake Waterfowl Wingshooter’s Dove Belts last year, but they were sold out. All I can say now that I have one is that you better get your order in soon, as this is one well-constructed and thought-out shooting product. Keep in mind this is much more than a dove shooter’s belt and it would make an excellent small game, trap, skeet, or sporting clays shell belt.

Constructed of proprietary HD2 material that is heavy-duty and sewed to last for years and currently available in Mossy Oak Shadow Grass, the Wingshooter’s belt is a must-have item.

The picture on Drake’s website does not do the belt justice as it is larger than the picture portrays. The two-inch woven belt has a huge mesh game pouch measuring 10 by 13 inches that would hold a limit of doves, woodcock, and quail, but has enough room for a few pheasants, grouse, and even teal.  At the range it also doubles as a spent shell pouch or it could even hold some rolled-up rain gear. A large mesh water bottle holder is included, as well as a web-reinforced pouch for resting your gun’s buttstock. When standing in the field or on the range, the gunstock pouch is great idea and one you will use often.

Finally, the fourth pouch uses Drake’s signature spring-open closure. This is really an outstanding attribute, as the four-inch opening will stay open when it needs to and snap shut, allowing access for even the biggest hands and securing your shells for the hunt. A loop is also sewn on to give shooters a feel for the opening. Keeping the pouch open ensures quick reloading. The waterproof HD2 material surrounds this pouch, with drains incorporated as well. Overall the belt is capable of holding several boxes of shells (loose or boxed) and will fit most persons up to a size 50-inch waist.

The unique features continue, with each component secured around the belt with two or three heavy-duty snaps. This great design provides shooters the very quick option of re-locating the pouches as needed for left- or right-handed shooting, and removal of unused pouches. All pouches can be washed.

The Wingshooter Dove Belt’s MSRP is $35.

I have been an avid hunter for most of my life with an emphasis on dove, duck and goose hunting.  I grew up in Missouri and was fortunate to share my father’s profession  as a waterfowl biologist while growing up.  I have hunted perhaps every corner of the state and currently lease an area that I waterfowl hunt on as often as possible. My profession is in academics, but  I also advise our nationally ranked  shooting team, I am a certified NRA shooting coach and I teach a course in Recreational Shotgun Shooting each fall. I love the shooting sports. My second passion is radio control airplanes.  I fly, write and blog for a national magazine and online forum often.
