Irish Setter’s Waterproof Drifter Hiking Boot Review

If you’re in the market for a solid, lightweight hiking boot, check out Irish Setter’s waterproof Drifter hiking boot. This is the lightest hiking boot offered by Irish Setter, yet it’s also waterproof and offers maximum durability. A few months back, I decided to give these boots a try and they have not disappointed.
Right out of the box, I was pleasantly surprised by how comfortable the boots felt on my feet, and after running them through a variety of terrain, I found they also offer great traction and stability.
Each hike in these boots took place during fall/early winter in Michigan, so I they have seen a variety of trail conditions including light snow, mud and water. The Drifter was successful in keeping my feet dry and warm through all conditions thus far. My feet stayed surprisingly warm in the snow, and the boot offered good breathability in fluctuating temperatures – plus the soles didn’t clog with mud.
The only negative I could find with The Drifter is some of the green painted areas on the boot seem to be wearing off quickly. This may be something to keep in mind if you intend to wear them causally, but for me, this was only a minor con in a long list of pros.
