SIG Sauer Introduces the NEW P322 Rimfire Pistol

Rimfire pistols are somewhat of an enigma and often are the butt of many jokes when it comes to things like reliability or ergonomics. Outside of a few rimfire clones of centerfire pistols, no one has really made the effort to release a polymer gripped rimfire pistol that has been designed from the ground up to work with the often finicky 22LR cartridge. That is why SIG Sauer is excited to announce the introduction of their newest rimfire pistol the SIG P322!
SIG Sauer Introduces the NEW P322 Rimfire Pistol
The SIG P322 pistol is an in-house made design by SIG Sauer right here in the United States – not an outsourced project. The pistol features an aluminum alloy slide with an optics cut, fiber optic front sights, fully adjustable rear sights, and front/rear cocking serrations. In addition to 20-round factory magazines, SIG Sauer is also releasing dedicated 10-round compliant magazines as well as 25-round extended magazines in just a couple of weeks.
The barrel is a 4″ fixed barrel featuring a 1/2×28 threaded muzzle that tucks away neatly underneath the slide when not being used with a suppressor. The P322’s barrel also features a fluted chamber which should aid in reliability for both feeding and extracting a wide variety of ammunition including more affordable bulk ammunition often found at big box stores.

If you’re not huge into target shooting or even rimfire competition shooting then I still think the P322 would make for a great, lightweight, and configurable survival pistol. A couple of the other features I noticed at the media event for this handgun make it super easy to maintain and service over more complex designs and as an added benefit, the polymer frame of the P322 makes it insanely lightweight to boot!
