Demo Nation – Breaking out the Banish 46 in Bear Country

On this Demo Nation, I’ll break down my daughters bear hunt and the Silencer Central Banish 46 she used while hunting.
Earlier this fall I got to experience a very special bear hunt with my daughter in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. She was donated a tag through the you transfer program, and we headed north above the Mackinac Bridge to chase these bruins in the deep cedar swamps in the west end of the UP. We were using hounds this time and let me tell you, if you have never hunted bears with dogs, do yourself a favor and DO IT! It was so much fun, and I highly recommend it to anyone! We looked over several bears and treed some Sows with cubs before we found a great 320lb beautiful black bear that she was able to successfully take on the 3rd day before I had to hustle her home and get her back to school.
On this hunt we were using a Savage 110 Apex Hunter chambered in .450 Bushmaster. .450 BM is a popular round here in Michigan’s lower peninsula because of our rifle line but it is also a VERY capable bear round with a ton of knockdown power. This also gave me the opportunity to use one of my favorite suppressors from Silencer Central, the Banish 46. Shooting suppressed is a game change for anyone who does it but for especially a 15-year-old girl toting a heavy caliber rifle around the swamps of northern Michigan. The recoil reduction along with the noise reduction makes it a dream to shoot and gives you the ability to shoot a rifle with a ton of knock down power while reducing the amount of felt recoil and noise! Basically, you can deliver a huge punch without a huge punch back from the rifle.
First, let’s break down the specs of the Banish 46 from Silencer Central:

First things first, the Banish 46 is going to be an incredible companion for those hunters who have to contend with caliber restrictions within their State. Here in Michigan, we have a rifle line that restricts certain calibers from being used in the lower half of the State. A great number of hunters have moved away from hunting with shotguns and adopted rifles chambered in calibers such as the .450 Bushmaster. The Banish 46 from Silencer Central is the perfect pairing for something like the .450 Bushmaster because it can withstand the pressure from a 260 grain projectile being pushed at more than 2100 fps at the muzzle. If you like to shoot a more traditional firearm like a lever gun chambered in 45-70, the Banish 46 has you covered there as well.
One incredibly convenient feature of the Banish 46 is the ability to use the suppressor as a direct thread for bolt guns or to use a muzzle break which is the industry standard 1.375×24. The added versatility of the mounting options means you can easily use this on an AR platform style rifle or bolt action hunting rifle with ease. Silencer Central also sells a variety of additional threads should you want to direct thread the Banish 46.
Speaking of convenient, Silencer Central offers what is, in my view, the most convenient process in the industry for buying a suppressor. You begin your journey on their website where you can browse one of the many suppressors they make for calibers ranging from rimfire all the way up to magnum calibers. Once you have picked out your suppressor, you make your purchase and let the team at Silencer Central take over. They will facilitate almost every aspect of the approval process and should you want to, you can complete the entire process from your home! They are even able to send your suppressor directly to your doorstep once your tax stamp has been secured.
There has never been a better time to make the leap and purchase your first or even 10th suppressor. With the reintroduction of eForms by the ATF, the process has become far easier than it was even 5 short years ago.
