A Day On the Water with the Carp Angler Group

Yesterday I spent the afternoon doing a little shore fishing with the Michigan guys from Carp Anglers Group. I got a real education in Euro style carp fishing. These guys can really catch some fish. This is by far the most laid back group of anglers I have fished with. The group was made up of all kinds of ages and everyone was there to lend a helping hand and land fish. I have never seen a group take better care of a fish while landing and releasing the fish. The action was so hot at times I had to lend a hand in fighting fish. I really look forward to doing some more of this style of fishing in the near future with this guys.

The group ended up landing well over 25 fish.  The biggest of the day was 22lber.

The tally for the day was:

3 20+ lb fish caught
2 19+ lb fish caught
1 17+
1 16+

The rest and there was a bunch where all under 15lbs.

If you have never done any carp fishing before you really should give this a try.

If you want to learn more about the Euro style of carp fishing join their web forums and stay tune here I am planing on doing a few articles here soon on the basics and the terminology for this style of fishing.
