The First Time Bassmaster Classic 2011 Winner Kevin VanDam Went Fishing

Kevin VanDam has been fishing since about the same time he learned to speak and walk. Knowing that, it’s no wonder the man has won numerous Angler of the Year titles and awards. He’s one of two men to have won the Bassmaster Classic four times,  but the only one to set a tournament record weight of 69 lbs. 11 oz.

VanDam is the recent consecutive winner of the 2011 and 2010 Bassmaster Classics and he is the defending champion at this year’s tournament on the Red River in Louisiana. With this list of accomplishments, watch this video to go back to square one and see how it all started as VanDam talks about the first time he went fishing and what he learned from the sport.
